All the high voltage and extra-high voltage lines are equipped with a\u00a0<strong>Distance Protection relay<\/strong>. Distance relaying is the art and science of the protection system, and therefore it is essential to understand and learn the working principle of overcurrent relays.<\/p>\n<p>The course consists of 46 lessons in 5 hours. Complex topics of protection relays are covered and explained with straightforward explanations and various examples.<\/p>\n<div class=\"info_box\">The course starts with the distance protection concepts, relay characteristic angle and fault characteristics and continues with detailed explanations of\u00a0<strong>plain and directional impedance relays, Mho and offset Mho relay<\/strong>. Special attention is paid to describing the working principle of Zone 1, 2 and 3 relay settings, and the distance protection settings network diagram.<\/div>\n<p>Distance relaying should be considered when overcurrent relaying is too slow or is not selective. Distance relays are generally used for phase-fault primary and backup protection on sub-transmission lines.
