It covers the basic grounding and protection concepts, short-circuit in isolated networks, phenomena associated with ground faults, grounding of low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, grounding system circuits, and finally specifications and ratings of grounding devices.<\/p>\n<p>The course consists of a total of <strong>52 lessons<\/strong> and has a duration of <strong>3 hours and 5 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The course is intended for both lower- and upper-level undergraduate students studying power system, design, and measurement of grounding system, as well as a reference for power system engineers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1117719161?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This course is organized into seven chapters. <strong>Chapter 1<\/strong> \u201cBasic Concepts\u201d deals with the course preview, and the preview of short-circuit current calculations. Short-circuit in isolated networks are discussed in <strong>Chapter 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 3<\/strong> covers Phenomena associated with ground faults (such as transient overvoltages, arcing ground, false motor starting, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 4<\/strong> includes the grounding of low voltage systems. In this chapter, we\u2019ll discuss experience-based guidelines for grounding \u2013 Industrial systems and transmission lines, natural capacitances, grounding transformers, methods of grounding, etc.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1117720490?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 5<\/strong> presents facts on grounding of medium voltage systems by diving into residual relaying scheme, ground sensor scheme, neutral ground scheme, and other important topics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter 6<\/strong> describes different grounding system circuits and guidelines. Grounding of systems in hazardous areas and ferroresonance phenomenon are also covered in this Chapter.
