Setting of instant short circuit tripping of C.B/ selection of circuit fuse
Calculation of instant short circuit tripping of circuit breaker is based on following inputs:
- Voltage(L-L)
- Voltage(L-N)
- Instantaneous Short-Circuit Triping Set
- Accuracy
- Cable Size
- Cable Material
- Actual Length of Cable
And according to what you select or choose, result of maximum length of cable for your tripping setting is calculated. Selection of fuse is based on circuit wire size input (1,5mm2 – 70mm2).

Hi Sir,
I am an electrician and really appreciate your time and effort into writing these amazing software programs.
i tried downloading some of the software but keep getting blocked. Kindly advise how I can download some of your softwares to help me with my job.
Thank you,
Patterson Bogar
Good afternoon Sir
I want to make the following constructive comment in order to improve your appreciable and very useful spreadsheet CB-Tripping-Setting-Motor-Data in the motor data tab:
In cell K9 the efficiency of the motor (cell F21) must divide instead of multiply, since it is the input power of the motor from the network
In this way, cell K11, corresponding to the full load current of the motor that it absorbs from the network, takes into account the correct power
Best regards
JAS
Sir
Have you given for OH lines designed substations with SC Calculations?
Jignesh Sir,
My sincere thanks to you for this amazing spread sheet.
i would like to bring to your attention to just one point in this spreadsheet (calculation of voltage drop and cable size for motor / elect. load) by taking an example.
If you consider a 7.5kW (an example) motor only load, at 80% efficiency, the cell I8 gives ‘consumed load’ as 6.0kW (lower than the motor output rating, as a result of multiplying output with efficiency instead of division) and this gives current values that are eventually calculated on this 6.0kW (cell I8) which would be lesser than the actual values we are hoping for.
Please see if this helps so that your spreadsheet still stands out the best among others out there
Best,
Sree
Jignesh Sir /EEP team,
I realised that i have posted this one wrong thread. Please excuse me for my doing. The feedback was intended for cable sizing program spreadsheet as mentioned in the second paragraph.
sir this is very exciting and perfectly helpful for beginners to higher levels here i found every literature about this field and also some software for real time implementation
thank you again sir
what is meaning of ir fault
Thank you for kind
Very nice site and very intresting
sir
how i can registry in ur website
Dear Sirs,
Unfortunately I can not download anything from your web site beacause of acces to 4 shared web site to be forbidden by Turkish government Telecommunication transmission Board.Could you advise me another way to download your documentation. Thanks
regards
Hooh, that might be the problem! You can make a list of stuff you would like to download and send it via contact form https://electrical-engineering-portal.com/contact
Just make sure to send URLs of stuff you’re interested in, so I can find’em and sent it to you.
