Calculation of the energy savings

Step 1 – Calculate Actual Load (kW)

(Load) Power kW = Volts V x √3 x Current I x Power factor Pf

Step 2 – Calculate Required Power Factor Correction (kVAr)

Power Factor Correction kVAr = Power kW (TanΦi – TanΦd)

Φi = Cos-1 Initial Power Factor Pf
Φd = Cos-1 Required Power Factor Pf

Step 3 – Calculate Actual Power Factor Correction [kAVrl

Actual Power Factor Correction Pf = Cos (Tan-1 (TanΦiCorrection kVAr/Power kW ))

At the end of the spreadsheet you will get the calculation of the energy savings for above power factor correction.

Hello sir’
im working as a electrical design engineer

1) how to find the incomer current rating for APFCR panel ?
2) how to find the breaker current rating for the 25kvar & 50kvar capacitor ?

and i refer this method its right or wrong??

Kvar= 1.73*V*I*Sin\$ (\$ IS INSTESD OF PHASE ANGLE PHI)

so I= kVAR/1.73*V*SIN\$

IN A PURELY CAPACITIVE CIRCUIT \$ IS 90 DEGREE
SO TERM SIN 90 = 1
HENCE WE CAN CALCULATE CAPACITOR CURRENT BY kVAR/1.73*V

sir i am working as a technician in private industry, plant is running with load about 900 kva how much capacitance we should need to connect, what kind of problems arise when we are connect capacitance more than required value kindly send the answer to my mail id

You will spend more capacitors than necessary, I presume thati It is expensive. You will loose money. And if there were a much more capacitance, you will need more KVAr again, but now capacitive.
