Voltage drop spreadsheet
The following voltage drop calculations were all based on the resistance values in Table 8 Chapter 9 of NEC (National Electrical Code). This spreadsheet only considers voltage drop.

Many other factors affect wire size. Please refer to entire NEC when sizing wire. Spreadsheet has three sheets beside main one with calculations:
- Printable VD calculations
- Printable Table Parallel wires
- Printable Table 310-16

Gentlemen,
If i am laying a DC cable of 200 meter from UPS to the main load (Battery charger), in that case how can i calculate my voltage drop for this cable. As per my knowledge DC power has no polarity and less losses with no P.F consideration compared to AC power. So voltage drop will it be applicable here if so how please support….
I need the maximum power supply length of each circuit
thank you
l need change voltage please
vaiable voltage
The formula for minimum voltage drop is not correct.how is possible for 240v supply and 228v drop
The derating factors need to be included as a part of installation, also need to check for motor [running / starting] application.
Has anyone updated this program? I’ve been using it for a while and really like the way it works, but I’d love to have it updated for NEC 2008 & 2011..
