Course Description
This course provides a complete understanding of the GIS substation Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and interlocking, which are the most critical topics for operating substation engineers. The course takes an example of the real 132 kV Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) installed in a 12 MW, 132 kV Grid Station.
A full interlocking scheme is typically included with substations to guarantee that all disconnectors, fixed earthing switches (or other interlocked earthing devices), and, when necessary, circuit breakers, are operated in the proper order.
The course explains the substation operational philosophy for a 132 kV line trip and restoration, grid line isolation & restoration and transformer line bay isolation & restoration.
