Description

This is the first course of the main general program: “The Smart Power Grids of Tomorrow with the Deployment of IoT and Smart Metering”. The course is structured to begin with an overview of IoT and Digital Transformation issues that are essential for comprehending applications for smart grids.

Smart metering is frequently viewed as the first step in the development of a smart grid, which is an electricity network or grid that enables a two-way flow of electricity and data. The digital transformation of the electricity industry relies on smart grids, which have been around for more than ten years.

In smart grids, where analytics are moved to the edge, as in edge computing, big data analytics and IoT technologies are significant technology drivers. Smart grids use more technologies, but they go beyond IT and even those technologies.

With an eye toward the smart grid framework and future smart grid road maps, this course provides an introduction to IoT in the smart grid.
