Power Transformer Testing

Power transformers transform electrical energy from one voltage level to another – by stepping voItages up for transmission to minimize losses, or down for distribution.

During regular operation, and in particular during an electrical fault, power transformers are subject to:

1. Electrical,
2. Mmechanical,
3. Thermal, and
4. Environmental stresses.

Therefore utilities and service providers test power transformers, in order to assess their condition, schedule maintenance work and plan their replacement.
